Testicular Implants: Advanced Treatment in Maryland
Men may undergo an orchiectomy or surgical removal of their testis because of testicular cancer, trauma, or may be born with a poorly formed testis or absent testis.
For cosmetic purposes, a man may desire to have a testicular implant(s) or testicular prosthesis(es) placed. An implant is sized to match the normal testicle, or when both testes are absent, sized to fill the scrotum so that it appears as desired.
Testicular Implant Surgery: What to Expect
Testicular implants are filled with saline and placed inside the scrotum. They are soft to the touch, and result in a very realistic look and feel.
Testicular implants are placed in the operating room under IV sedation and local anesthesia and are performed as an outpatient procedure. The procedure may be done at the same time as orchiectomy or testis removal or at a later date.
